Why Choose Kiln-Dried Birch?
- Birch hardwood is known for rapid ignition and steady burn. It lights more easily than many hardwoods thanks to its natural bark and structure.
- When kiln-dried, birch’s moisture content is significantly reduced (typically under ca. 15–20%), meaning less smoke, cleaner burning and more of the fuel value goes to heat rather than evaporating moisture.
- Birch produces a bright, attractive flame, making it a great pick if you have an exposed fire or want that warming “glow” in your living room.
- Because of the ease of use and cleaner burn, kiln-dried birch is ideal for domestic heating, open fires, and outdoor applications alike.
Usage & Storage Tips
- Storage: Once delivered, keep the pallet in a dry, well-ventilated location off the ground. Cover the top if exposed, but allow airflow at the sides so the wood remains ready to burn.
- Lighting: Even though birch lights easily, it’s best to begin with some kindling, allow a good ember bed to form, then add the birch logs in.
- Appliances: This birch wood is compatible with wood-burning stoves, open fires, fire pits and outdoor ovens. Ensure your appliance is rated for hardwood fuel.
- Burning Behaviour: Expect efficient heat with a cleaner burn than many conventional air-seasoned logs — less smoke, less mess, more time enjoying the warmth and ambience.
